Abstract
For several decades researchers have studied start-up companies with a focus on international markets, suppliers and networks from their inception and on companies that are establishing new, agile business models. This has resulted in two streams of research: The Born Global and International New Ventures research and research with a focus on the Lean Start-up company. It is our intention in this paper to give a short presentation of the two research streams and show how they can be merged into one with a focus on newly established technology oriented firms that are lean and global from their inception. This will lead to a research proposal that is intended to lead to a number of case studies in Denmark and Canada. The outline of the empirical research will be briefly introduced in the end of the paper.
