Abstract
Europe is facing a shift in demographics. Individuals aged above 65 saw an increase of 4.8% between 2010 and 2020, while projections show ever more increase [1]. Age, although not a decisive factor, increases the chances of dementia. In 2018, 1.51% of the population in Denmark had dementia and it is predicted to increase to 2.65% in 2050 [2]. Dehydration is a major concern in elderly and dementia care. It increases health issues, quality of life and costs [3]. To tackle this issue, some products attempt using sound or light as a reminder drink [4]. None however, make use of movement. To take advantage of the movement and the change it brings into the user’s field of view we created Bibo [5], a cup that lights up and “dances” on the table aiming to attract attention and illicit drinking.
