Tailoring Software Engineering Generative AI Agents to Company Standards and Developers' Preferences

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceeding › Article in proceedings › Research › peer-review

Abstract

One of the hurdles of integrating generative AI (GenAI) tools into existing software engineering workflows is that the outputs generated by the foundational models are not tailored to specific company standards and developers' individual preferences. This challenge has prevented many companies from adopting AI-assisted software engineering across their workflows. This PhD project aims therefore at investigating in the next three years different methods and tools for providing tailored and personalized GenAI outputs taking both company standards and developers' preferences into account. The objective is to facilitate GenAI integration into existing software engineering workflows and boost adoption across different software engineering activities.
