Abstract
The chapter, "Sensory methods", aims to capture and analyze the richness and variety of sensory experiences. Traditionally, this field has focused on the capacity of audiovisual media to capture and convey nonverbal and sensory impressions. However, there has been little focus on how researchers can work with and study sensing and sensory worlds without necessarily using media.
This chapter, therefore, focuses on building a theoretical framework and an analytical vocabulary for researching the interaction between human senses and the environment. The examples show how these analytical concepts can be applied in practice across various projects. These projects involve notably professional contexts where technologies shape social interaction, as well as broader analyses of the interaction between human senses and the material world.
