Abstract

Pulse width modulated (PWM) inverter fed induction machine based electric drive is very popular drive system. Typically, an LC filter is place between PWM inverter and the machine. This may cause instability due to increased order and poor controller design. To design a stable control law, this paper presents the model of the system using port-controlled Hamilton model approach. This model is further used to define a passivity-based control (PBC) law which guarantees a stable system. The proposed control law is simulated to verify the proposed PBC law.
