Abstract

Recent forecasts for alternative energy generation predict emerging importance of supporting state of art photovoltaic solar cells with their organic equivalents. Despite their significantly lower efficiency, number of application niches are suitable for organic solar cells. This work reveals the principles of bulk heterojunction organic solar cells fabrication as well as summarises major differences in physics of their operation.
