Abstract

This study presents a framework for identifying and categorizing microgrid ecosystem performance metrics within the CSTEP dimensions—Climate, Societal culture, Technology, Economy, and Policies and regulations. Utilizing a case study of Gili Trawangan's electricity system, the paper introduces 13 popularly used metrics, encompassing economic, renewability, and resilience aspects of microgrid performance. These metrics are systematically aligned with the CSTEP dimensions to offer a detailed evaluation of microgrid ecosystems. The approach not only highlights the financial viability and environmental impact of microgrid operations but also emphasizes the importance of resilience in ensuring reliable energy. By integrating socio-political considerations with technical and economic analyses, this paper provides a holistic perspective on microgrid ecosystem performance, laying the groundwork for future advancements in sustainable and resilient energy system development.
