In this paper we investigate some of the negative outcomes of entrepreneurs’ engagement with incubators/accelerators. We apply cross-case analysis of empirical observations from qualitative interviews with Danish and Canadian entrepreneurs to arrive at a set of recommendations that entrepreneurs should keep in mind if they consider engaging with an incubator/accelerator. These points are further qualified via interviews with four serial entrepreneurs.
