Abstract
Since high ethical self-efficacy it is likely to reduce moral distress and
promote mental health, it is central to have a specific measure, which is
tailored to capture the construct of ethical self-efficacy, when designing
interventions to promote confidence in decision making. In this study we
develop and provide a prima facie validation for a scale for measuring ethical
self-efficacy. We operationalise the notion of ethical dilemmas and combine
both qualitative and quantitative methods of scale validation to aid the
identification of domain, item generation and validation of the scale.
