Abstract

Transport infrastructures require continuous andefficient inspection techniques to ensure their safety. Dronesare one of the latest technologies that can be used to get adeep picture of the infrastructure. However, inspecting largeinfrastructures such as railways and bridges demand smart dronesolutions that operate cooperatively and recharge autonomouslywhile flying in a controlled framework. In this paper, we presentthe concept of the Horizon 2020 project Drones4Safety and itsdrone ecosystem for intelligent and autonomous inspection oflinear infrastructures such as railways and bridges and discussits integration with the U-Space.
