An Aptamer-Based Nanobiosensor for Real-Time Measurements of ATP Dynamics

Abstract

A nanosensor based on a new DNA aptamer can show changes in intracellular concentration of ATP of 0.5 to 8 mM and thereby the kinetics of ATP-consuming reactions in real-time. The biosensor was protected against nuclease attack by being buried in a polyacrylamide nanoparticle. This strategy can readily be applied to any metabolite of interest in cells.
