    Abstract

With the new working time agreement for Danish primary and lower secondary school teachers, the school area - both teachers and leaders as well as the administration and local politicians - has sharpened its obligation for dialogue and cooperation. Listening to the perspectives of different professionals requires a cultural change.

As independent school researchers from the research network NO!SE, we are interested in understanding what is at stake in the teachers' new working time agreement, which commence in January 2021 and is fully rolled out with the new school year in the summer of 2021. In this article we speak with resource persons from both the Danish Teachers' Association (DLF, chairman of Øhavets Lærerkreds, Lone Clemmensen), the School Leaders Association (SLF, vice chairman Dorte Andreas), and in addition we have had informal conversations with a few school leaders. Our mission is to shed light on different perspectives and expectations for the agreement. This article brings a brief summary of the conversations, and provides an open bid for the cultural work that the school district has in store.
