Udvikling af nordjysk Oxy-Fuel pyrolyse for daglig omdannelse af 30 T biomasse og slam til energi og CO2-capture under samtidig eliminering af PFAS

Project: EU

Project Details

Description

The project's focal point is the development of a complete flash pyrolysis plant that is integrated with parallel functions in the value chain – from biomass to coal and gas utilization but, as something new on a larger scale, with an integrated oxygen supply (Oxy-Fuel). The overall goal of the project is to create capacity for 30 tons of daily pyrolysis in order to be able to supply gas and electricity to the supply grids and carbon capture in the form of biochar in the future.

The project plant will operate with pyrolysis of biomass from its own biogas plant and with sewage sludge from Hjørring Vandselskab. The project's research efforts will focus on the possibilities of controlling and reducing the content of PFAS in sewage sludge using pyrolysis and on increasing the utilization rate of biochar in agriculture by utilizing the properties of coal as a potential carrier of organic nutrients.
