My PhD dissertation examines Russia’s practices related to the development, testing and use of weaponised Artificial Intelligence (AI). It has for goal to observe these practices and analyse their relationship with Russia’s state identity, with the broader theoretical aim of understanding the co-constitution between practices and state identity in International Relations (IR). It is a contribution to the AutoNorms research project, funded by the European Research Council (ERC). AutoNorms is a five-year (2020-2025) project which looks at how international norms related to Autonomous Weapons Systems (AWS) manifest and change through practices.
