Background
The ICD-11 and DSM-5 introduces a diagnosis of Prolonged Grief Disorder (PGD). Knowledge is lacking about accurate assessment of the disorders, the implications of the criterion of cultural deviation as well as the relationship to comorbid disorders following a loss in both clinical and general population samples alike.
Purpose
- To test the validity and reliability of the Aarhus Prolonged Grief Disorder Self-report schedule
- To test the validity and reliability of the Aarhus Prolonged Grief Disorder Clinical Interview
- To study the implications and correlates of the criterion of cultural deviation for general population and clinical patient samples
- To study the course and comorbidities of complicated grief reactions in a general population sample
Design
A longitudinal cohort-study (the TAB-study). Surveys and clinical interviews with bereaved patients.
