Description

This project asks: What is the role of Nordic basic schools as past, present and future sites for solving the challenges of making diverse inclusive knowledge-based societies? This project is interested in the challenges that material and digital re-configurations of sociality bring to Nordic education. Through multidisciplinary studies of four different Nordic schools, we explore inclusion and exclusion over a time-span of 50 years. The project will provide empirically based insights for Nordic policy-making, debate and development. To engage and involve students, teachers, alumni and communities in co-designing and co-creating research and innovation, the project uses Citizen Science. Funded with 1 mill. Euro by SLS Svenska Litteratursällskapet i Finland within the Future Challenges call (11 projects out of 450 were selected for granting).
