Project Details
Description
The aim of this innovative feasibility project (which is a precursor for a clinical trial) is to further develop, implement and tailor the SENS Motion technology and corresponding app on motivational feedback (gamification) for improved physical activity on total knee arthroplasty patients following discharge.
The current project aims to achieve specific knowledge that can be implemented in a future randomized controlled trial (RCT) nested in a prospective cohort with the aim to investigate whether physical activity following total knee arthroplasty can be optimized by the use of an activity tracking device including motivational feedback in comparison with care as usual. Furthermore, the future clinical project will investigate the predictive value of physical activity level prior to knee surgery for the post-surgical function and quality of life.
