Project Details

Description

The Region of Southern Denmark's citizen-science project ‘A Healthier Southern Denmark’ has been running since 2019 (it began in 2017 and 2018 as A Healthier Funen) and focuses on engaging the region's citizens in health research. This is accomplished through knowledge sharing and insight into current health research, research questions and results, reducing the distance between citizen and researcher and building the foundation for dialogue and interaction.
A Healthier Southern Denmark is a unique example of a partnership between a region, a university (SDU) and two media partners (TV2 Fyn and Tv Syd). This helps to expand and strengthen a broader public dialogue, ensure the involvement of the region's citizens in the research process and influence on the allocation of research funding for scientific projects. In the end, it is the citizens who decide which projects will be awarded funding.
