SCIENTIFIC AUTOBIOGRAPHY

 

My goal is to link the chemical structure of materials with their macroscopic properties, which is achieved by combining several experimental techniques and in international, interdisciplinary collaborations. I am a physical chemist by training and work on the interface between materials and environmental science. Current research focusses on the development of NMR spectroscopy of paramagnetic materials and phosphate recovery from waste water with emphasis on layered double hydroxides and their application as catalysts, energy materials and ion-exchangers.
