Research interets

My research explores how metaphors function as both cognitive tools and rhetorical means of communication. I study how metaphor and embodiment shape emotional and cognitive experience in contexts such as psychotherapy and public discourse on gender, identity, and bildung. Theoretically, I focus on degrees of metaphoricity and the interaction between metaphor and metonymy within multimodal communication. I am a member of Multimodality, Language and Organization and co-founder of MetNet Scandinavia, and currently developing the project Images of Fatherhood on metaphors and cultural narratives of fatherhood.
