Research interets

My academic work centers on Conceptual Metaphor Theory, Metaphoricity, Embodied and Ecological Cognition, Embodied Interaction Studies, and Multimodality — approaching metaphor as a dynamic and context-sensitive phenomenon.

My research explores how metaphor shapes emotional and cognitive experiences, including its role in therapeutic change, the gradable nature of metaphorical meaning, and the interplay between metaphor and metonymy. I also study multimodal metaphors in campaign materials. I am a member of the research group Multimodality, Language and Organization and the international network MetNet Scandinavia.

Currently, I am pursuing new interdisciplinary research, focusing on Images of fatherhood — examining how metaphors and cultural narratives contribute to the evolving understanding of fatherhood, combining insights from literary studies and cognitive metaphor theory.
