Research Interests

I am Associate Professor of Technology Entrepreneurship at SDU, Department of Technology and Innovation, campus Sønderborg. I recently finalized the EU Interreg 6A project "ARTEMIS - Pioneering SMEs"  (2023-2026). Before joining SDU, I worked at Leuphana University, Lüneburg, Germany, where I established the international Leuphana Conference on Entrepreneurship and co-lead the research project “Herself ‒ Self-employment in the Professional Career of Female Graduates” granted by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research. I am a Fellow and Past President of the European Council for Small Business and Entrepreneurship. In my research, I am passionate about the individual in entrepreneurship, i.e., the entrepreneur, as well as randomized controled trials as prefered research method to test causality. Among others, I investigate  the role of voice and pride in venture evaluation and funding decisions, and engineering entrepreneurship education. I have published more than 35 articles and 3 books, in peer-refereed journals, such as Small Business Economics, Business Strategy and the Environment or Journal of Small Business Management, and with publishers, such as Edward Elgar.
