Research areas

I am Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship at SDU, Department of Technology and Innovation, campus Sønderborg. I was recently awarded the EU Interreg 6A project "ARTEMIS - Pioneering SMEs" with a duration of 3 years starting in 2023. Before joining SDU, I worked at Leuphana University, Lüneburg, Germany where I established the international Leuphana Conference on Entrepreneurship and co-lead the research project “Herself ‒ Self-employment in the Professional Career of Female Graduates” granted by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research. I am a Fellow and Past President of the European Council for Small Business and Entrepreneurship. I my research, I am passionate about the individual in entrepreneurship, i.e., the entrepreneur. Among others, I investigate  the role of voice and pride in venture evaluation, generation of new venture ideas, entrepreneurial decision-making, engineering entrepreneurship education and women’s entrepreneurship. I have published more than 35 articles and 3 books, in peer-refereed journals, such as Small Business Economics, Business Strategy and the Environment or Journal of Small Business Management, and with publishers, such as Edward Elgar.
