Research Interests

My research is focused on practice based research aiming to connect research knowledge with the actual practice in routine clinical settings, specifically with an eye to investigating emotions and emotional regulation based on the assumption that the emotional experience of life is fundamentally essential for well-being and recovery. Therefore my research target the association between psychopathology, emotion and emotional regulation, including the relationship to recovery, and ways to facilitate adaptive emotion regulation. To achieve this, I incorporate technology and digital solutions in the solutions of patient care, and focus on establishing collaborative partnerships with particular attention to the inclusion of the patient perspective in research and co-creation of new treatments.
My research expertise is clinical psychology and recovery, technological solutions in patient care, anger and aggression, PTSD, depression, emotion regulation and rumination, and development and validation of assessment tools.
