Personal profile

Research areas

I am a Geriatrician based in the Emergency Department (ED) on a mission to provide timely, precise and relevant information to clinicians about prognosis of older patients. To this end, my research focuses on clinical utility of prognostic models for older patients in EDs and the Frail phenotype.

Currently working on: Frailty-adjusted prognosis; Nationwide implementation (DK) of frailty assessment; Validation and development of prognostic models in the Emergency Department

In addition, I am increasingly engaged in questions regarding frailism — a behavioural bias where frailty alone leads to exclusion from treatment, rehabilitation, palliative care, or involvement — similar to ageism, a well-known behavioral bias where individuals are treated negatively based solely on age.
