Research Interests

Towards a Stronger, Smarter, More Resilient Future

Resilience is no longer optional; it is foundational to the stability of our societies, economies, and institutions. As risks grow increasingly complex, interconnected, and unpredictable, proactive resilience-building becomes imperative.

My research focuses on transforming how organizations and the insurance industry approach risk and resilience — not merely through reactive policies, but through strategic foresight, systemic design, and data-driven decision-making.

As founder of the European Center for Risk & Resilience Studies (www.ECRRS.org), I lead interdisciplinary work on:

  • Supply Chain Risk and Resilience Modelling
  • Catastrophe Risk Financing
  • Property Risk
  • The Future of Insurance

I believe academic societies have a responsibility to empower actions that shape tomorrow’s resilience; enabling institutions, organizations, and individuals to move from risk response to risk anticipation. This means advocating for:

  • Making risk visible before it strikes
  • Designing systems that strengthen under uncertainty
  • Bridging academic research with real-world impact

Resilience must evolve from a technical objective to a shared societal ambition; where foresight, not just recovery, defines leadership.
