Personal profile

Research areas

As part of a short personal description, I can mention my occupation as former educational leader at Naturama, which is a natural science museum in Svendborg. I am an educated teacher, a natural science guide, I have a master’s degree in natural science and have upgraded to a master’s degree in sports and healthcare.

I have developed the Wildman courses, which is a rehabilitation offer for men suffering from stress, anxiety, depression, cancer or cardiovascular diseases. This approach will apply nature as a co-therapist and is based on natural therapy and has created national as well as international interest. The Wildman courses will be examined in my Ph.D. via randomized mixed-methods.

 and Aesthetics in nature.

The results of nature therapy for both men and women suffering from stress-related illnesses are examined through phenomenology and evolutionary psychology related to the international research applying nature in health services. I am interested in showing the diversity and greatness of nature to people and to make it possible for them to discover and experience nature through all their senses and explore how it can help them to improve their mental health. In the future I intend to focus on research and work to publicize the opportunities of applying nature for health promotion and treatment in the Danish health sector.
