Personal profile

Research areas

As an art historian by training, I have extensively worked on medieval book illumination, on medieval Iberian culture and artistic exchange in a frontier society, and on the Classical Tradition in the Middle Ages. My current research project is focused on the analysis of late medieval illuminated historiographical texts from the Iberian Peninsula, and more broadly, on the study of medieval historical imagination and the uses of images in the construction of historical discourse.
