Research experience

During the years of my academic career research interests have focussed on studies of small business dynamics. During the 1990ties this focus was expanded with research on the logic of small business management, innovation and entrepreneurship. Included is also research in management consultations for SMEs and entrepreneurs.

In recent years the aim has been to relate the theme of small business dynamics and entrepreneurship with themes from design research. The creative logic embedded especially with artistic flavoured designing is on the one hand seen to be associated with essentials of the bricolage inspired perspective of opportunity and market creation in the research agenda of entrepreneurship. On the other hand, the logic of designing and of business management is seen to create fields of forces inviting to an array of interesting research themes. I still want to pursue these themes in collaboration with fellow researchers. Another, old theme that has caught my current interest, is regional differences in business dynamics.
