Research focus:
My main research interests are vascular function both in normal physiological settings and in cardiovascular and renal diseases. My research group uses techniques from the molecular level, to in vitro techniques to the integrated in vivo level. I focus on resistance vessels and their involvement in regulation of blood flow and blood pressure. The major aim of my research activities has fallen into three main areas; 1) calcium channels, 2) adenosine and 3) aldosterone and their involvement in cardiovascular and renal physiology and patophysiology. I have collaborations to Odense University Hospital and we can as something exceptional perform functional studies on freshly isolated human blood vessels. I verify our data from animal models in humans which gives new insights in the mechanisms relevant for the understanding of regulation of blood pressure and vascular function in humans. 

Supervision and referee service:
Supervisor for bachelor students, graduate students and Ph.D students. Opponent at 8 ph.d thesis in Copenhagen and Aarhus. On the review committee for seven associate professor positions at Aarhus University and Copenhagen University.
