Current research:
PHs research focuses on protein structure and function. A primary focus is the development of new methods for determining protein three-dimensional structure and protein interaction by chemical cross-linking followed by mass spectrometric determination of linkages. Another topic is the structure and function of the endoplasmatic proteins, in particular calreticulin and calnexin. Furthermore, development of methods for fast analysis of glycopeptides by mass spectrometry.

Specific topics
• Three-dimensional structure of calreticulin (mono, di- and multimers)
• Fast glycosylation analysis of immunoglobulins
• Glycopeptide quantitation
• Glycosylation analysis of cancer markers
• De novo proteomics of fish mucus proteins

Administrative experience:
2006-present: Ph.d. study leader, Faculty of Science, SDU

Editorial and reviewing tasks:
Editor for Journal of Proteomics.
Member of committees for appointments of assoc. and full Professorships in Denmark. Reviewer of grant proposals (Austria and Switzerland). Referee for a number of journals.

Supervision:
1 postdocs, 6 PhD students, 23 MSc students (4 Novo scholars; 1 Oticon) and 7 BSc students.

Congress organization:
Co-organizer of five conferences in Denmark on Mass spectrometry (2003-2006).
