Research Interests

1. Sound communication in terrestrial animals with emphasis on the physics and acoustics of the communication systems. I study all three links in the communication chain: mechanisms of sound production, adaptation of sound signals to the environment, and the physiology of hearing
2. Aspects of the orientation mechanisms of migrating birds
