Personal profile

Research areas

I began my research working with chronicles and other sources from the Thirty Years’ War, which resulted in the internationally recognized monograph Military Occupation under the Eyes of the Lord (2010). Since 2011, my main focus has been on the nineteenth century, where I have worked as an editor of major Danish authorships. Since 2017, I have been a co-editor of the digital edition of the complete manuscripts of H.C. Andersen’s fairy tales and stories (www.hca.sdu.dk/manus). This edition is methodologically grounded in genetic criticism and the study of writing processes. I have codeveloped the website and regularly encode in XML, HTML and related markup languages. In parallel, I have broadened my work within the digital humanities, aiming to publish academically robust, well-curated datasets and to translate traditional humanities research questions into formal models.
