Research Interests

My primary research area is screenplay development for film and television fiction and media production.

2025–2026: In my one-year postdoctoral project, I am examining how screenwriters can contribute to the sustainable transition of the Danish film and TV series industry. My focus includes 'Sustainable Storytelling,' also known as 'Green Storytelling.'

2021–2024: In my PhD dissertation, The World-Building of Screenwriters, I investigated how Danish screenwriters of TV fiction create fictional worlds, also known as diegetic worlds, which have the potential to extend across other media platforms through transmedia. The dissertation contributes two main points. First, it introduces a new scaffolding typology that consolidates various theoretical concepts about scaffolding in creative processes. Second, it expands the philosopher Donald Schön’s concepts of ‘seeing-as’ and ‘doing-as’ to encompass script development. By extending these concepts, my research has contributed to an understanding of how past experiences and visual tools can structure and frame a creative process such as script development, including the creation of fictional worlds.
