Research Profile

I have a keen interest in working with public health and risk factors, and my motivation stems from a desire to improve health outcomes by creating equal opportunities for everyone.

Throughout my research career, my main focus has been on evidence-based quantitative register-based research, primarily in the field of tobacco cessation. I also have a strong interest in research methodologies, especially in the field of epidemiology and biostatistics. As a result of this interest, I have been involved in several projects concerning risk factors such as alcohol, overweight, and malnutrition.

At the National Institute of Public Health, I am part of a team developing a national health profile for pregnant women. Furthermore, I am engaged in several projects, including physical activity, mental well-being, and opioid use.

Background

Since 2001, I have been employed at the Clinical Health Promotion Centre (Bispebjerg and Frederiksberg Hospital), and in 2018, I obtained a PhD from the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen.

During my time at the Clinical Health Promotion Centre, I was part of a team that established and developed the National Smoking Cessation Database, for which I was the national coordinator for 10 years. After finishing my PhD, I was the daily leader of a national research project to evaluate tobacco cessation interventions for different groups of vulnerable tobacco users throughout Sweden, at Lund University. During the years I have been assisting editor of a scientific journal, as well as having taught, supervised, and been a course leader, primarily within research methodology and biostatistics.

In May 2023, I changed to my current position.
