Research areas

At SDU, I am primarily working on developing new iron complexes that are capable of indiscriminant oxidation of otherwise inert C-H and C-C bonds, with the goal of removing trace concentrations of problematic organic contaminants from drinking water.
This multidisciplinary research covers many areas, such as: biomimetic/bioinorganic coordination chemistry and supramolecular chemistry, X-Ray crystallography and theoretical chemistry, and a range of different spectroscopic and physical chemical techniques.

Research interests

I am interested in how we can manipulate the physical properties and reactivities of (transition) metal ions through the design of organic ligands which bind them.
