Personal profile

Research Interests

My research focuses on the evaluation of complex interventions with an emphasis on mixed methods process evaluation and implementation research. I specialize in quantitative assessments of implementation of multi-component interventions. I have mainly worked with interventions in secondary educational settings such as vocational schools and high schools, addressing public health issues such as the use of tobacco and nicotine products, physical inactivity, and mental health.

Currently, I am in a postdoctoral research position, working on a multi-component intervention to prevent children’s overweight and promote healthy weight development. This research is conducted within municipal community health services, focusing on first-time parents and their children as well as community health nurses’ implementation of the intervention. Key aspects of my work include planning and conduct of mixed methods process evaluation with a special focus on implementation research approaches, i.e., identifying barriers and facilitators for implementation, and evaluating implementation strategies and implementation outcomes.

I am also currently involved in a research project investigating the implementation of a Danish national smoke-free policy in vocational schools and preparatory basic education including tailoring and evaluating implementation strategies to promote the uptake of the smoke-free policy into routine practice.
