Personal profile

Research areas

In my research, I focus on literature didactics in upper secondary, explorative conversations about literary texts, and on ecocritical analysis as a method to reflect on sustainability issues.

In my PhD dissertation and subsequent monograph, Litteratursamtaler efter gehør, I have - inspired by jazz theories - developed a conversation model on how to combine academic immersion with improvisation and student participation in discussions about literature. In my current postdoc program, I have implemented the model in an empricial study of students' ecocritical readings of texts by Henrik Pontoppidan, Emil Bønnelycke, Per Højholt og Dan Turéll. Here, I examine the students' reflections on the relationship between nature and culture, and how these reflections impact their understandings of contemporary climate and environmental issues.

Overall, I combine literature didactics, aesthetic and socially relevant dimensions and contribute to the development of L1 education and broader discussions on education and sustainability.
