Methods, materials and tools. Teaching Philosophy•Experience with the e-learn system of University of Southern Denmark•Experience with Powerpoint presentations•No original “published” productions pertaining to teaching materials other than a booklet explaining epidemiological tasks and answering 24 epidemiological exercises 1995-1999I have independently elaborated slides, handouts and so on to my teaching lessons. I have used both lectures and case-based teaching. Depending on the setting, I have chosen different methods. Case-based teaching, I have good experience in case-based teaching in occupational medicine and there is also good evidence for this method. Regarding the education of undergraduate and graduate thesis, I mostly use a combination of lecture and group work.My teaching style is when possible involvement of the students in dialogue and exchange between presentations and group work, and evidence-based educational principles.Regarding educational philosophy: my teaching was initially based on adult learning theories, where motivation for learning is predominant. Both the reinforcement of positive feedback through feedback and activity is important. I have the focus on, how the student can relate what must be learned both to what was previously learned, as well as a focus on, how the learned material can be used in the future. For example, I specifically show the students that they are welcome, and I show them that they can use what they learn in their future work, I find out their level of knowledge and adapt the instruction, I show the students that education is relevant to their future work eg by examples of research. Dialogue stimulates the students and I give them time for reflection and discussion in class and try to get everyone involved (the students have the opportunity to discuss a matter with another student for two minutes). I ask clarifying questions to assess whether the students have learned the material. I only use limited power point presentations and the teaching method is often problem-based. An important challenge in teaching is to inform about clinical epidemiology, its role in the Danish health system and the importance of evidence-based disease surveillance, diagnosis and treatment as well as the importance of understanding comorbidity and epidemiological pitfalls when interpreting research articles.Evaluation: Trust items, Chairman of PhD assessment, Examiner and Review for international journals •Chairman of the PhD evaluation committee: • For nurse can scient san Kamila Adellund Holt PhD thesis "The rehabilitation of women with gynaecological cancer: Goal setting, adult attachment and quality of life". This has given me experience with oral and written examination leading to personal professional development. Each type of exam has strengths and weaknesses: The classic oral transmission consultation provides the opportunity to ask questions in a variety of areas depending on the student's presentation. However, there is great unevenness in the reviews depending partly on the examination form, and partly on the subjective perception of the performance. This probably depends partly on the interpersonal relationship between the external examiner, the examiner and the student, partly on in which subject the student is examined. Ultimately, the results partly depend on the student's ability to present the subject. The written exam weaknesses are influenced by a number of factors, including the student's ability to express him or herself.•Forums and Advisory Committee: • Appointed for the board of DAMO, Bestyrelsen for ”Danske Arbejdsmedicineres Organisation” 21.03. 2014.• Appointed as a representative of the Center for Clinical Epidemiology (formerly Competence Centre South) in the Danish Cancer Research Forum (founded by Danish Regions), 1 January 2010-2013. • Appointed as a representative of the Center for Clinical Epidemiology (formerly Competence Centre South) for the project: Template for documentation of clinical quality-population indicators variables.
