Weight Status and Well-Being: How Childhood Weight Influences Later Life

My research examines how early-life weight status impacts children’s well-being later in life. We investigate whether weight status during infancy and the early school years can predict well-being in adolescence. Additionally, we explore whether the family’s socioeconomic background influences this relationship and if weight status in the first school years can explain part of the connection between infant weight and later well-being. The aim is to gain a deeper understanding of how early life circumstances shape children’s future well-being, contributing to improved health and well-being for all children.

My research focuses on register-based epidemiology, previously with a particular emphasis on clinical epidemiology and current a more social epidemiological focus.

I am deeply interested in applying advanced statistical methods to explore complex health-related questions and uncover insights that can improve public health outcomes.
