Research areas

Lasse Skjoldager Eskildsen is a PhD student at the Department of Political Science, University of Southern Denmark. In his doctoral project Democracy and Terrorism – How Do Civil Rights Affect Terrorism?, he examines how democratic institutions and political rights influence the emergence of political violence. His research focuses particularly on:

  • Political violence and terrorism, as well as radicalisation processes

  • Regime types, civil liberties and human rights

  • The interaction between civil rights frameworks and state security measures

Eskildsen also teaches Method 2 (Quantitative Statistics) and The Nation State in Transformation.
