Research Interests

My research interests concern neural control organization, electrical and neurochemical properties that govern urinary bladder function and changes, that occur with dysfunction. In addition to the above research areas I have also been interested in new technologies for screening and diagnostic of lower urinary tract symptoms, and Diabetes mellitus. During the years, I have contributed to research within peripheral nerve injury, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, acute and chronic bladder inflammation, and partial bladder outlet obstruction, as well as within area of postnatal reorganization of micturition reflex due to neural maturation, and problematic of diabetes mellitus Type 2 in developing countries.
