Short bio
Karsten Boye Rasmussen is an associate professor in the research unit of Strategic Organisational Design at the Department of Marketing and Management, University of Southern Denmark. He is a sociologist from the University of Copenhagen. His research interests are within information technology, organization, data, methodology and metadata, and the use of business intelligence, data warehousing and data mining. With emphasis on the small and medium-sized companies the focus is on information technology especially as utilized in virtual organizations and collaborative business networks.

Participation in Large Scale Research Projects
•eBusCo.net project on SMEs in Northern Germany and the Southern Region of Denmark supported by the EU through "Interreg IIIA". Collaboration with Fachhochschule Kiel - University of Applied Sciences (prof. Heiko Thimm)and business agencies in the two regions (Danish project holder 2006-2008).
•Report for conference on the toll for crossing the Great Belt Bridge (Storebæltsbroen). (2004)
•Project on network of "Virtual Partnership" with focus on competence in companies. EU supported through "Innovative Actions". (participant, 2003-2005).

I have taught several different courses: Organization and Organization in connection with Information Technology, Business Intelligence, Data Warehouse, and Data Mining. Other courses on Methods and also Negotiation.
Have supervised more than 30 students for MSc (cand.it., cand.merc., cand.oecon. and MITKO-master). Examiner at 2 phd-dissertations.
