Personal profile

Research areas

My research interests are framed by International Politics, Political geography and border studies. More specifically, I am interested in the role played by the state in contemporary politics and in the scrutiny of territorial disagreements. My academic interests also include the conflictual aspect of borders, the strengthening of border controls and the study of European enclaves.

My current research focuses on territoriality in the Balkans. More specifically, I am interested in analysing the socio-political challenges of Serbian enclaves in Kosovo and how these territories are affected by (and affect) the bilateral relations between Belgrade and Pristina. In addition to that, my research aims to critically examine the dominant narratives concerning the role of the “International Community” in Kosovo.
