I am Chief Academic Officer of the Interdisciplinary Centre on Population Dynamics since 2018. Prior to that I held positions as consultant, researcher and project manager with a thirteen-year track record in demography, sociology and social geography from Vienna, Budapest, Dijon and Prague. I hold an award-winning PhD in demography and economics.
In my previous job as a consultant for the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe in Geneva my main task was to design a monitoring framework for the global population development goals adopted in 2013, for Europe, North America and Central Asia. In my previous position as a senior analyst at the Institut for Serviceudvikling I have initiated an international consortium to apply for 1.2 million euro funding at the Norway grant scheme in the sphere of knowledge transfer in youth employment. In my role as project manager at the KAICIID International Dialogue Centre in Vienna I was responsible for project design and management of a team of ten. As a researcher at both the Czech and the Austrian Academies of Science I focused inter alia on historical demography and the analysis of residential migration flow. I am the lead author of an analysis of population prospects in Europe, North America and Central Asia commissioned by United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) for its global population strategy of 2014 and of a monograph on the demography of Jews in Bohemia.
