Personal profile

Research areas

Ingeborg Farver-Vestergaard obtained the PhD degree in psychology from Aarhus University, Denmark in 2018, which included a visiting scholarship in the Policy Research Group at the University of Cambridge, UK. While her PhD project focused on psychosocial intervention in respiratory disease, her post doc activities broadened out to also include research in caregiver experiences and bereavement. She is currently employed as a clinical psychologist at the Dept of Medicine, Vejle Hospital and a postdoctorial researcher at Department of Regional Health Research, where her research activities span across different patient populations (i.e., cancer, respiratory illness), healthcare sectors and delivery (i.e., hospital-based, community-based, tele-based) and methodologies (i.e., qualitative, quantitative studies). Ingeborg has considerable experience as a Primary Investigator of large-scale randomized controlled trials and interregional studies. Despite her young age, Ingeborg has already obtained significant research results, e.g., implementation of psychosocial programmes in clinical practice and numerous publications in peer-reviewed and high-impact journals. Moreover, the translational aspects of her research career is visible in her clinical work with somatic populations through 1) group-based psychoeducation in pulmonary rehabilitation, 2) individual counselling with cancer patients and caregivers as well as 3) telephone counselling through the Danish Lung Association. Moreover, her contribution to the development and update of national clinical guidelines bear witness of her strong interest in the improvement of clinical practice locally and nationally. Lastly, she has been highly engaged in strengthening multi-disciplinarity and international connections through her research activities, clinical rehabilitation work and network publications.
