Research areas

I hold a PhD in Education and work as a post doc researcher with a focus on translation studies. My PhD thesis (2013) examines the international experience in the startegy of life long studies, and after that my reserch focused developed in the area of  the translation of literary works across historical and cultural contexts, with a particular emphasis on the methods of foreignization and domestication in translation, drawing on established theories in the field. The post doc publications explore how translations of classic literary works have evolved through different political and cultural periods, especially in the Eastern Europe, in Slavic countiries, highlighting the implications of translation practices on cultural identity and hegemony. My recent work investigates the impact of contemporary language policies on literary translation in Ukraine and Russia. I am also interested in the role of translation in cultural identity formation and resistance. I am exploring new methodologies for analyzing the socio-political contexts of translation practices and their impact on national identity. During my post doc position,  I have been - and still am - affiliated with research groups focused on cultural literary adaptation and translation of children literature.
