Personal profile

Research areas

I hold a Master’s degree in Anthropology and am currently pursuing a PhD in Public Health. My research focuses on intimate partner violence, with a particular emphasis on psychological violence in intimate relationships. I approach this field through an ethnographic lens, combining participant observation and qualitative interviews to explore both the interpersonal and structural dimensions of violence. My work investigates the lived experiences of those affected by violence, while also exploring how professional practices, institutional frameworks, and public narratives co-produce understandings of psychological violence. I am particularly interested in how these dynamics contribute to legitimizing certain experiences as ‘real’ or ‘recognizable’ violence, while potentially rendering others invisible or less credible.

I am a member of the early-career researcher network Violence and Gender (Vold og Køn). The network brings together young scholars across Danish universities who engage with topics such as gender-based violence, domestic violence, sexual violence, and stalking.

In addition to my current research, my academic work has also included projects focused on youth mental health and on improving continuity and coherence within psychiatric care systems.
