Teaching:

I started out with a focus on American Literature, but over the years I have (for a number of reasons, very practical indeed) become less specifically focused and at present I teach both early and late English/British literature as well as theory and criticism. Over the years I have also offered courses on crime novels, science fiction, 'world fiction', and - in recent years - illustrated media and English fiction c. 1830-1860. The latter I am especially fond of and it is the focus of much activity in my spare time as well.
