Teaching

Instructor in anatomy and histology.  1992-97 Odense University, In total 300 lectures

Epidemiology and research methodology:  2001-09 I taught in epidemiology and research methodology classes and “hands-on methodology” of medical students and radiography students. I have also taught epidemiology and research methodology in Master degree courses for Rehabilitation and Gerontology, University of Southern Denmark, as well as in in postgraduate courses for teachers in health educations (2003-09). In total 390 lectures.

Associate professor haematology, Department of Clinical Research, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Southern Denmark, march 2008 to september 2009 and from 2012 – 2018. Teaching medical students at 7th and 12th semester in haematology through lectures, classes, moderating group work etc. In total approximately 200 lectures

Professor haematology, Department of Clinical Research, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Southern Denmark, 2018 – present. Teaching medical students in haematology as above. Since 2020, I have been responsible for a full day program during the last semester and shared the responsibility for the team-based-learning session in haematology. Since 1 May 2024 I have been overall responsible for haematology teaching at SDU.

Post-graduate teaching

I have since graduating from medical school constantly participated in teaching post-graduate in various medical departments, symposia etc. Since 2015 I have been teaching and co-organizing the theoretical course of benign haematology for doctors in specialist training for the internal medicine: haematology specialty.

 

Co-organizer and co-chairman of the PhD course “Immunotherapy in Haematology”, 9-10 March 2017, PhD School Health, University of Southern Denmark through the Danish Haematological Research Educational Network.

 

Other

Multi-disciplinary teaching of nurses in Departments of Haematology, Vejle Sygehus and Odense University Hospital

 

Several full day lectures and discussions on immune thrombocytopenia in the Danish Haemophilia Society

 

Webinars and podcasts. I participated in a number of webinars and podcasts as a hematological expert as detailed in my CV. The targeted audience has been both health care professionals, in-training, and lay people.

 

Exams

Authored assignments for MCQ exam in haematology of medical students, University of Southern Denmark twice yearly during 2008-09, and since 2012.
